http://odalisqued.blogspot.com/2009/07/it-will-live-for-awhile-in-american.html

I guess it's an open-source essay. Thank you for reading it. I <3 milquetoasts tho also prefer noise to elevator music.

I get what you and PHM are saying that it has a surface "soothing" or "maternal" quality, but I think that "softness" is exactly what makes it radical. Like it makes me think of kids on a football field stealing the football and cutting it in half and turning it into a boat and spilling everybody's Gatorade into a new giant lake and sailing that football boat back and forth across the lake while all the football players and coaches and cheerleaders are mystified and sweaty, which I think is an example of how "extreme care" can also mean "gentle riot."

i love the psuedo-pastiche quality of her work, here and in odalisqued. i say pseudo because while there are multiple sources, and it is somewhat of a patchwork creation, the lifted material is interspersed with original writing and with links to videos and photographs. honestly, i thought odalisqued took the best parts of 'traditional writing' and combined it with the best parts of 'internet possibilities'. so i guess what i'm saying is, this is a really interesting hybrid work, which i think borrows from flarf, conceptual and language-based writings, and does something different and entirely enjoyable.

now star wars is on and i think you all should leave.
