Boobs Friday: Noy Holland
If you haven’t read Noy Holland yet, it’s time you did. For her 80 page story ‘Orbit’ in her book ‘The Spectacle of the Body’ alone, she should be made mandatory in schools across America.
Here’s a more recent story online, from her second collection ‘What Begins with Bird’ from FC2.
If that’s not enough for you, and because it is Boobs Friday, here is Noy at a reading with spoons dangling on her nipples.

how doe they stay on like that? Glue? double sided tape? I’m confused.

Maybe they are not ‘attached’ and just part of who she is. Born with silver spoons. I am doing puns I am stupid.

I bet she just licks them- yeah, I figured that out just “trying it at home”. Cool!

hey pr- i finished reading O’Connors book of essays. I’m really in love with it, even the parts I don’t think I agree with.

Justin! It’s a short book, but so wonderful. I don’t agree with her at all on many things, but my admiration for her is tremendous on so many levels. So I’m with you- I love pretty much everything about her, even though I am a profoundly different person than she was. If you read her letters, she has this long exchange for a good portion of her life with “A”. And “A” is not Catholic (although at one point thinks of becoming one) and is so different from Flannery (I wish we could see her letters to Flannery) and yet Flannery’s respect and dignity and interest in “A” is something to behold.
These days, my fave story of hers is “Parker’s Back”. The woman died at 39 and wasn’t necessarily prolific and yet I find her work endlessly rich. I keep going back.
