I loved this interview, Lily & Jeremy! Especially the mix of questions from specifically about the text (the similes question) to the personal (the sensory defensive question) to the random/genius question (the last one — what a great question!)

Here is what has gotten me to move Rose Alley up to the top of my must buy list: the idea of “fitting at least one novel’s worth of ideas into every chapter.” I can’t wait to see how that works. Also super thrilled to read an American Oulipo book!

God damn it. For the past eight months I was convinced that the best thing written in 2009 was Rose Alley; now I have to amend my own edict: this interview was the best thing written in 2009. Thank you so much for publishing it.
