[...] HTML Giant has a lengthy piece on The Rumpus and interview with Elliott up today. One interesting quote from it, taken from a larger discussion of the evolving format of the arts: But in many ways The Rumpus is working off a very old model, as is HTMLgiant. A group of writers starting a cool literary journal, like McSweeney’s or The Paris Review, where you have great writing and you raise just enough money to publish. [...]

That was an interesting interview. The pressures of finding so much new content every day must be pretty high. Stephen is doing a good job.
Also--Justin: I don't think it's been mentioned on this site yet but I want to say a public congrats on your recent book deal.

Great post, Justin. Your Q&A with Stephen was really good. Like pr, I like the idea of letting new last a little longer than normal. I often feel like by the time I get around to reading a new book, everyone else has moved on and then I feel lame.

Nice article by Dan Chaon, too. I love his work but haven't yet read his wife's. The article was a touching and loving introduction to her work. Anyway, nice post all around.

This was FANTASTIC. I love the whole "we don't care if it came out six months ago" or whatever. It's so refreshing, so anti-hype. I think it's a very smart model. Also, Right On that you are willing to make lots of missteps and so forth and plan on that because you are trying to do something- meaningful and different? Less bottom line? Something like that. Mistakes rock. That said, I hope someone gives you a huge pile a cash for your excellent lit journal.

Thanks Justin and Stephen.
