I’ve been a customer of Normals for at least twenty years and I tell you the warmth and home like environment cannot be put into words. Yes I’ve visited other bookstores but none stand up to Normals. During my years in college I spent an enormous amount of time there and saved a lot of money. I’ve taken clients of all ages and diversity to Normals and during each visit I had to force them to leave the store lol.

Rupert will always be my friend. And for those of you who have never visited Normals, please take time out of your busy schedule to do so. Ereaders are nice to have but there’s nothing like the touch of a book!

Hi, I have hundreds, maybe thousands of records. Most are in mint, excellent condition. I am moving to a Condo, and must sell them. I have Latin, Classical, Big Band, Easy Listening, Dance music, and lots more. I have have hundreds of CD’s also. Would you be interested in purchasing these ?

I have been shlepping over to Normal’s since its’ strange inception as a vintage clothing shop that sold a few books in the late ’80s. Digression: The Book Thing is a tentacle of a dodgy nonprofit called The Network for Good. After a cursory web search that detailed some very murky practices, I don’t think I’d donate a used Kleenex to The Book Thing / Network For Greed. Back to Normal’s – I can’t say how much I owe them in terms of filling gaps in my book collection and record/CD/DVD piles. The auxiliary pleasures of Normal’s are not sneezable at – I owe hours of laughter to the comic essays of Blaster Al Ackerman and
the bizarre geegaws that adorn the store.

Normal’s is a great bookstore – please visit. And Rupert is a wonderful sentient biped. I believe Edgar Cayce said Baltimore would be a great shining city in the End Times – that is why people are drawn here.

Dang, I hate that I don’t have awesome bookstores like these near me. There is a used bookstore a few blocks from my house, but finding anything I want is rare. I buy books every time I’m in there anyway, just to give them some money, but still.
