This sounds like a good survey class. I enjoy your account of it, and it reminded me how enjoyable teaching or taking a class can be sometimes, especially if it is not workshop class.

Well right now I teach undergrads at the New Brunswick campus, and the MFA is out of Newark, but who knows what the future might hold. I’ve heard great things about Jayne Anne Phillips, who runs the MFA there. I think Barry Graham–who used to be round these parts a lot, but I haven’t seen lately–is a student there. But don’t quote me (any of you) on that one. Anyway, good luck, if you decide to apply.
