i shall check it out. i read another interview online -- intimidating person! (seeing a photo raises this intimidation-factor by an order of magnitude.)
http://lemonhound.blogspot.com/2008/07/vanessa-place-round-one_10.html

i notice that she met your DFW comparison w/a generous amount of silence. lol.

is it conventional to italicize words by /going like this/? i think that's the first time i've seen that, and i really like it.

thanks mark. yes there is an excerpt on the fc2 profile for the book, but the site has been down all day. i'd say check back in with the site and you can read the first few pages. i don't know if there is anything else online right now, but i can promise you the book delivers in every line.

terrific interview. i'm fascinated by, and a bit frightened of, authors who are so conceptually deliberate (here, the 41 days, writing through various parts of the brain, intending in other projects to "go past time" or "to be in all time").

i wish fc2 and amazon would get their acts together for some "look inside the book" action (a feature i'm totally addicted to). any excerpts online?

I watched part of that after Blake posted! Interesting. I will say now that I know she's a defense attorney for sex offenders, I'm a little afraid.
