I would rather be called &quot;Messcan&quot; or &quot;Port-o-reekin&quot; than a &quot;person of color.&quot; Most people don&#039;t know what I am until they see the &quot;González&quot; in my name. The fact that they have to request that women and &quot;persons of color&quot; submit can be construed as a commitment in word, but it&#039;s for nothing if there&#039;s no deed. If you publish plenty of women and &quot;persons of color,&quot; then you are leading by example; people see results and are encouraged. 

From what I see of Fence, they do a fairly good job of representing the various elements of society. At least on the face. 

Or maybe it&#039;s just weird for me that people still find these things necessary.</description>
