"Stein has only made me upset upon not being able to understand her." are you sure that's her fault? what do you mean by understand? i'm pretty sure i don't understand any of my favorite poets. but on the other hand i think i do understand them, because i understand english words and english words are what they usually use. what's not to understand, come to think of it? if there is a word i don't understand i look it up and then i understand. not to say that i like everything i don't understand. there are plenty of writers i don't understand whom i also happen not to like. but my point is the liking and the understanding are on separate tracks. and of course there are different levels of understanding as i said. anyway, i have arrived at the end of this comment. hi. i think stein and wodehouse are pretty much equal geniuses.
