to be honest, at first i thought i was reading a burroughs-style cut-up of a new ben marcus text. there's a really facinating parallel occuring now between theory construction (as it appears in the sciences and philosophy) and literature. basically, rationalism (reasoning void of empirical constraints, other than a set of givens culled from primary experience) resembles more a style of literature than an inquiry of knowledge. gene ray is a prime example (just another math crank (with little math skills), math cranks are good examples too) of where the boundary between non-fiction and fiction begins to break down and bleed into one another. i think he'd be big in the indie scene. he should publish a chapbook.
