Vouched Books
Christopher Newgent has a new project, Vouched Books and it is pretty awesome.
The concept around Vouched is simple.
Vouched is here to spread and promote small press literature by peddling literary wares at art events and farmers/flea markets around Indianapolis. Every book on the Vouched Books table is a book that Chris personally read and enjoyed and wants other people to read and enjoy.
Most of all, Vouched is about talking about books. Small presses are putting out some of the best and most artistic literature out there. Chris wants to talk about these books, and wants these books to be talked about.
Check them out and consider making a donation to support the project.

Chris’s execution of this idea is so right-on. I hope he intended the logo to look like a rubber stamp and I hope he gets a rubber stamp made to stamp on the inside covers of books he thinks are good.
Oh man, this looks really cool. More people should do this.
Someday I want to have a Vouched Books franchise. Will that be a thing? That should be a thing.
Start one, Mike!
I just woke up from a glorious nap to glorious this. Thanks for the mention and kind words, Roxane.
Seriously, Mike, I’d be stoked for this idea to catch on. Chris and David Peak are doing something very similar in Brooklyn.
@chris I’m actually glad you said that. That was the intent with the logo design, and I’ve been waffling about the idea of stamping on the inside of the covers. A rubber stamp of a rubber stamp design = meta-stamp.

What a cool, cool idea. Seriously. We all talk about supporting indie writers and publishers, and Chris just goes right out there and does it. I am totally inspired by this.

This is an excellent idea Chris. People travel the craft fairs (I hope they are included) circuit all year long. Just having a few books on someone’s table will go a long way.
Very cool idea! thanks.

Thanks, everyone. The response has been 100% positive so far, almost overwhelmingly so.

I think this is incredibly exciting, and I would love to start something similar in Annapolis, where I’ll be living next year.

Do it, man. Let me know if you need any help at all.
