A great tradition would be to make Independence Day into “Independent” Day. Buy one book from an independent press today, I ask you. I went with Pathologies by William Walsh. Keyhole Press. You?

This is a really great idea. I just bought WONDROUS THINGS I HAVE SEEN by Brandon Brown from Mitzvah Chaps.

Very cool idea – here’s a quick link to a blog post just up celebrating Independents/Independence Day with links to 74 publishes and 74 stores. Now to go make a selection – I think I’m going to look for a chapbook, something handmade, today:

Realized I’d ordered and received about half a dozen chapbooks in the past two weeks so I went with Dies: A Sentence by Vanessa Place from Les Figues Press.

ON CANADA DAY ZZZZIPP WAS SHUDDERING BETWEEN SULPHUR SMOKINGS AND, EARLIER, ESCAPING FROM THE BELLY OF A BEAR THAT HAD EATEN HIM AFTER PULLING HIM UP FROM THE WATERS AROUND PARRY SOUND (MISTAKING HIM FOR PERCH).
AGREE WITH YOU OTHERWISE M.M.; THE ONLY THING IS THAT CANADA DAY HAS MORE TO DO WITH DEPENDANCE THAN INDEPENDANCE. IT’S A WEDDING ANNIVERSARY.

I’m a slowpoke. I bought Zack’s The Man Suit. Been trying to order Heather’s The Difficult Farm but it keeps slipping through my fingers. First it was sold out, then I wanted to buy it but not pay shipping, then I felt bad and didn’t buy it so I have to wait until I have more money.
