This is pretty funny: UNHAPPY HIPSTERS.

  1. .

Are these even hipsters? They look more like yuppies. (Are those mutually exclusive?) Boring rich people in dollary houses. I want to see mullets and gold tights.

This cracked me up: “Maybe naming him Rimbaud wasn’t such a good idea.”

I do think there’s a subcategory of hipsters that are yuppie-hipsters, but these aren’t them?

Is it terrible that I mostly think these houses are gorgeous and calming and want to live/write in them?

I must confess I don’t get this site at all. Most of the pictures are of little kids or old people who don’t look hipsterish at all and most don’t look unhappy either. Seems like the site should be titled “Content rich people”

      And what’s with this one:

      http://unhappyhipsters.com/post/354522904/ever-the-realist-he-built-his-table-for-one

Aren’t desks normally built for one?

I guess there is some meta-irony hipsterism I’m missing. Can some Williamsburger help me out?

Labelling people just dehumanizes them. But these dudes and dudettes are def. yuppie. Those houses are opulent/spacious/private Who wouldn’t want to live where they live? But there is something about the together-ness of the people in those pictures (for instance, their just-natty-enough clothing, the perfect hair on Rimbaud) which makes me hate them.

It’s because they aren’t real people to me, only images. And it’s not the people themselves that I hate but their similarities.

i agree, someone posted this on facebook today and i was like, okay, so now hipsters are rich people with an unquenchable thirst for outdated modern architecture?

either i’m behind the times or the creator of this site just caught wind of jaques tati after seeing that atrocious paste spread on the ‘evolution of the hipster’ and thought, maybe i can pay the mortgage on my live/work prefab with google ads once i get this thing rocking

well, that’s simple really: the photos are all linked to their originals in dwell magazine, which is some kind of magazine for modern living, and the photographers are credited, i’m sure

  28. Lincoln

The photos are all from Dwell magazine, which must be some modern architecture snob magazine.

      This sucks.

So off tone. So I agree with those above. Looks like someone trying to capitalize on the hipster thing/website thing, never that good in the first place, or done well.

This is some limp-ass architecture mag (even it sucks) with poor comments added, not even witty. I mean medium intellect people stoned can make up funny comments for any image. These people could not.

I like the idea, but weak. Limp to the limp. Octopi.
