The Republican Party in Arizona is recruiting homeless people to run as Green Party candidates in order to siphon off Democratic votes.  Short story writer Richard Grayson won the Sixth Congressional District Green nomination with six votes, and says he is now being sued by the Green Party for being a sham candidate.

Heard about this today, as well.

But I will maintain that anyone who votes Green in any significant campaign, this year, was never going to vote Democratic, anyhow. There’s no reason for any Democrat or liberal to be concerned.

The only thing they need to be concerned about is getting their disappointed base to vote. No easy task.

Hey: glad we’re talking about politics! I was getting bored talking about all this literary stuff . . . now we can get some REAL arguments in here… .

…Um… unless I’m missing the point. Was this meant to be about short story writers running for Congress?

I can’t do it myself, unfortunately. Few people will vote for somebody who doesn’t pray.

Ahhh… I see. For some reason, I was totally unaware of this writer.

The More You Know, I guess.

Interesting… how can you realistically be sued as a “sham candidate” if you’re a write-in candidate?

Now to read his writing… .

Is it okay if this thread becomes all about me?
