Is image of who writer is as important as notion of what writer writes?

      No, but the “image” of who a writer is is usually at least a little constitutive of the “notion[s]” of what that writer writes, and those “notion[s]” are attached, perhaps loosely or obscurely, to what the writer actually writes.
