Live Giants #7: Mairéad Byrne

Well, Mairéad’s microphone went kaput, so you only sort of missed her reading. But the book is still available cheap till I decide we’ve made recompense.

Her latest book, The Best of (What’s Left of) Heaven is a 208-page opus just released by Publishing Genius. Purchases made between now and midnight tonight get a reduced $10 price and free shipping.

Hi everybody — Mairéad’s wifi is buggin’. She’s cycling power in Providence, RI now, so get a beer or a latte and we’ll be online in a few minutes.

Thanks everyone for tuning in (or you know). Mairead’s poems are fantasatic and I don’t think I did them too much justice, but well, at least we had a phoner.

That was much more entertaining, and personal than a regular reading.

Adam, thanks for making it happen!

The Best of (What’s Left of) Heaven is in the cart. Can anyone recommend two more books from PG before I hit checkout (I’m hungry for some late summer reading).

You might have checked out, but get Mike Young’s book for real.

Thanks again everybody. I just watched a bit of the video and it was interesting, like when Black Francis is explaining why he yelled “You fuckin die” to a person you can’t hear.

      Yes!

I’ve been trying to write about this book for a couple weeks or so now. It’s like trying to build a very boring office building with fireballs or something else badass.

Couldn’t hear, but ordered the book anyway.

      Looking forward.
