Boys Who Kill: Nathan Leopold and Richard Loeb / HIST leo01.jpg

Richard Loeb, 18, left, and Nathan Leopold, Jr., 19, were University of Chicago students in 1924 when they decided to commit the perfect crime by killing Robert “Bobby” Franks on May 21, 1924. Both Leopold and Loeb were sent to Stateville Prison in Joliet for 99 years for kidnapping and a life sentence for murder. Loeb was killed in prison on Jan. 28, 1936.
