11 greebles and twangers (of e)

1. Best nonfiction books of all time, etc.

2. A list of novels about lonely people.

3. Shelia McClear interview about psychology, sexism, stripping, memoir.

I just totally want to defend someone’s right to do that sort of work whether it’s a peep show or prostitution. I mean, I don’t want to be a prostitute. I would just defend it, because I’ve had a lot of jobs, and many of them were more demoralizing than the peep show.

11. WTF? Murakami wrote yet another story about cats…

The sounds Stafford make at 4:05-ish are pretty epic. Also enjoyed, “Yeh. Get the fuck off me!”

4. Winesburg, Ohio online.

God I fucking love that Stafford video. The squealing after the first TD is hysterical. Also, He threw 4 picks in the next game.

Are the Lions still trotting out future garbage collectors along the OL? If so, no wild card.

Good call. You were certainly watching the video. Those hits were Orca.

No; I’m guessing Sean’s 1. is phrased sarcastically.  The TIME site claims only:

best and most influential [100 nonfiction books] written in English since 1923, the beginning of TIME magazine

–not the “best” objectively (the main criterion is clearly ‘influence’ and ‘the lack of perfect objectivity notwithstanding’ shouldn’t have to be said with every assertion in ordinary conversation), not ‘the best nonfiction books in any language’, and not ‘the best of all time’.

Yes; the list is somewhat obvious, a little badly chosen, and a lot false-god-of-‘somewhere-in-the-middle’.
