I Like What The Hell Is Going On Over Here
Sasha Fletcher reads it up on Apostrophe Cast.
Science Is Fiction was a big wow for me, I recommend finding yourself a copy, if only to see this in all its glory. I saw it on a projector and very loud, which was a good thing to do. The DVD had been skipping the whole time but for some reason on this one not at all, it reminds me of J.G. Ballard’s The Crystal World.
Just locked eyes with a stranger through my cocked-up bathroom window, it was terrifying. I grew up in the country, the nearest neighbors were my grandparents, and that was a fifteen minute walk in the sun, across fields of dust covered in cowpatties so dried and crusted we used to play golf with them (sort of). I recommend removing yourself from your element – if you can, as much as you can – it seems the only way to see the wood for the buildings.
I’ve been reading Joe Brainard’s I Remember, and taking time to write little imitations like
I remember thinking if my signature wasn’t the same all the time no one would know who I was.
I remember when bread & butter sandwhiches seemed popular.
I remember wanting to be named Michael.
And ride a motorcycle.
Also been reading the old Gary Lutz, and doing more of the same as that which is to say imitation is fattery.

sometimes I think about my signature and how I should try to keep it basically the same because if I become any sort of moderately important historical figure (I don’t mean literature really, but like anything) how much trouble would I cause for collectors and appraisers if my signature is all over the place. this is a stupid thing but it is a thing.
