Arianna Huffington: “Self expression is the new entertainment. We never used to question why people sit on the couch for seven hours a day watching bad TV. Nobody ever asked, ‘Why are they doing that for free?’ We need to celebrate [this desire to contribute for free] rather than question it.”

      I immediately think internet.
I assume that is what she is referring to (?)
I think of watching TV as a form of muted, simplistic expression. There are ways to manipulate choice and presentation through the act of watching tv.
I think there are other underlying politics in this quote that I am either not qualified or not interested enough to comment on (i.e. the ‘value’ of self expression).

      Good quote.

      I’d like to self-express: yuck.
