when do you drink coffee & how do you take it? do either of these things actually mean anything to you?

      black. most every day i wake up and brew a pot of it. just brewed one in fact. going to dirnk it now.

      I drink it only occasionally here at work. When I drink it at home, it’s always from my french press, and I generally drink kona. If I’m writing, and it’s late when I start drinking it, I’ll season it with some bourbon and sugar. If it’s morning, usually just sugar.

      Every morning, between 7 a.m. and 11 a.m.(depending on wake-up time) I go to Circle K and get their cinnamon coffee with caramel creamer.

      Getting it helps me stay awake all day with the medication I take.

      The creamer is just so I don’t have to wait for it to cool off to drink it.

      I suppose going out to get my coffee is my sign that the day has really begun.

      I live with a serious foodie/coffee fiend who makes me a two-shot latte, Peet’s Major Dickason’s Blend, every morning. Like clockwork. He is like clockwork. I live with a man who is like clockwork. It’s weird. Every evening he comes home from work and cooks a gourmet dinner. Like clockwork. He keeps me caffeinated, well-fed, and “on time” if I need to be “on time”. During the day I am “on my own” and “left to my own devices”. It’s schiz-y.

      My latte wakes me up. I wake up very slowly. My mug is very big and high-tech insulated. It was purchased at Peet’s, for me, by my clock. I am drinking my latte right now. From my big mug. I am waking up very slowly. I have no idea what I’m doing the rest of the day. Except eating dinner at eight. Sometimes I have to get to work, but not today. I have off until “next year”.

      I drink about 2 or 3 shots of stove-top espresso every morning to affirm that yes I am alive & breathing. Generally (depending on teaching schedule) I’ll have a soy latte in the later part of the afternoon.

      When I’m at home and writing I generally make espresso or French Press (sometimes drip). When I’m editing or working on rewrites I prefer beer or bourbon.

      I drink it pretty much all day, every day. With half & half, no sugar. Except when I’m on campus, I drink overpriced things like white chocolate mochas and vanilla lattes, because we only have Starbucks out there and I don’t like their regular coffee.
