Mike Young—
“My momma always said I got a head shaped like a heart. Not like them cartoon hearts bitch girls draw about other boys in their notebooks. Like the real thing. A pumping chambered ugly of a muscle not meant for no light of day. Guess that means instead of brains I’m all blood. Guess that’s why I ain’t ever been scared of blood. It’s warm like I’m warm. It pools thick and gorgeous and don’t step in it less you want to make a painting of what you done for any passing bitch to start hollering about.” — from “Heart,” a great new Lindsay Hunter short in Burrow Press’s “15 Views of Orlando” project
Very nice. I must get ‘Daddy’s’.

Dennis—I’m guessing—yeah, I feel like you would totally love Daddy’s.
I loved to the two stories I’ve read out of Daddy’s. I need the book. Lindsay is awesome.
Lindsay effin’ rules. Hi Lindsay! You rule!
I like this. Reminds me of the voice in Toni Cade Bamabra’s “Gorilla, My Love.” I’m a sucker for voice and dialect.

Does the story end with “down another, I” – or is there another ‘page’ that I couldn’t find?
I enjoyed what I could find, but wonder if this sentence isn’t unnecessary: “Another thing about me is, I got a real hard time showing my true emotions.” (It’s both already clear and contradicts itself, in a way.)
speaking of, really excited when the hunter’s novel hits the fray. you too young, you too. far off in both yr cases as i’ve heard, but when they do hit, i’ll mark it on my calendar with a post-it noted ‘lose yr shit.’
That’s the end. Thanks all of the above for reading. And thanks, HTMLG.
I like Lindsay Hunter =) Because I have heard her read more than I have read her on paper, it’s interesting to see the paragraphs and the writerliness, so to speak.
Lindsay is the best. I like her better than the former Pistons’ guard of the same name.
