A link from my friend Dan: Sri Randal Randal stands on a ladder and connects people to disembodied spirits. LA readers, please go see this man for me.

Dooood, I’m in L.A. second Sunday of June. Oh my… I have to do this. I’ll report back if I find the guy.

Please, do. The photo accompanying this piece is from 2008. And maybe this is a hoax.

If it’s a hoax, please make up a story and send it to me.

Hmmm… I’d rather it be real. Oh, please, let it be real… but then, of course, if I write about it no one will know if I’m perpetuating a hoax or truthtelling. I like the possibilities here.

It’s not a hoax. There really are people who have been gifted with the ability to speak with the dead. As a matter of fact, I am one of those people. I speak with the dead through my email. And I just received an email from someone very close to you, Matthew. They want me to tell you that you don’t need to be sorry for not coming to see them right before they died. They know you’re busy. But it would have been nice had you come to the funeral and paid your respects. But you were always kind of selfish. That’s what they said, not me. They also said that you didn’t even send any flowers to the family, or a card. Nothing. As if you never even knew them or had anything to do with them. It’s not cool to do that, Matthew.

The photographer/storyteller has a lot of compelling images with odd texts attached on his Flickr stream.

Thanks for the connection, Pino. Please follow-up thus:

Is that you? Your family and I never met. Not even your mother, even though she was right here in town.

I couldn’t see you before you died. No one wanted me there. Least of all you.

I notice that your message to me began in what seemed like a forgiving tone, but it then broke into a much less civil one. I’m bothered that this is still the way you communicate.

Agreed. A fine set of images.
