Adrienne Rich, a pioneering feminist poet and essayist who challenged what she considered to be the myths of the American dream, has died. She was 82.
Sad news. Diving into the Wreck is a great poem: http://www.poets.org/viewmedia.php/prmMID/15228 .
Yikes–for years now I’ve been thinking to myself, Rich won’t live forever; sadly, the day has come–noooooooooooooooooooo!
Very sorry to hear that. RIP.
This makes me very sad.
Of Woman Born, which I read in the daze of the months just after the birth of my first child (and when at times I thought I might never read ever again!) just floored me. So Rich. RIP
ahhhhh this is heavy…she is one of the first poets I ever loved
