Power Quote: William Blake Runs the Voodoo Down
To Me This World is all One continued Vision of Fancy or Imagination, & I feel Flatter’d when I am told so. What is it sets Homer, Virgil & Milton in so high a rank of Art? Why is the Bible more Entertaining & Instructive than any other book? Is it not because they are addressed to the Imagination, which is Spiritual Sensation, & but mediately to the Understanding or Reason?
– letter to the Rev. Dr. Trusler, 23 August, 1799

This is a good power quote.
This is a good power quote.
Imagination is actually the only real power. And if the writer(s) is/are playing with our imagination, it does mean, they trust us, they believe in us. So we could say, the writers of Bible believed in their readers. Otherwise they would write tax lists and breaking news stories.

I believe in you, Merzmensch. But I don’t trust you.

Every major item you buy has or should have an instruction book. The bible is our instruction book from God. I don’t understand God’s plan for the world. I’m not smart enough. No one is. God’s nature is so above ours that we do not have the concept with in our capabilities. God telling us of his plan is like trying to teach algebra to your cat. So your imagination is no where near the truth. Give it up. Try to do something that you can ubnderstand.
I don’t ubnderstand you.

I feel I ubnerstand you all too well.
