  We are very excited to announce our first book, Ken Sparling’s elusive second novel, Hush Up and Listen Stinky Poo Butt, will be published in early 2010. Sparling is the author of three other novels, Dad Says He Saw You At The Mall, For Those Whom God Has Blessed With Fingers, and [untitled]. Previously Hush Up and Listen was available only in handmade editions by request, we are looking forward to bringing this fantastic novel of fatherhood to more readers.

paula and ryan will also be coordinating a journal, SENTENTIA.  deadlines for the first issue are january 2010.  additionally, the press will publish e-books.  here are the guidelines for everything:

SENTENTIA:

(Submissions open until January 1, 2010)

Like all literary publications we at Sententia are turned on by good writing, which is as subjective as it gets. Our only objective is to publish writing that speaks to us, that reaches into our chests and pulls out our hearts or guts.

Fiction: Short stories of any length are welcome. Please attach as a .doc file. When Submitting please put “Fiction Submission” in your subject line.

Poetry: We will accept up to five poems in a single submission. Please attach as a single .doc file. When submitting please put “Poetry Submission” in your subject line.

We only accept unpublished work, and ask for the usual publication credits should your work be subsequently published elsewhere. Simultaneous submissions are supported, and we, of course hope for the respect of being notified if it is accepted by another publication while under our consideration. Compensation for publication comes in the form of two contributor’s copy.

EBOOKS:

Artistically Declined Press publishes short .pdf ebooks, which are offered as free downloads. We  hope to publish between 4 and 6 a year.

Fiction: Between 1,500-3k words, either in a single story or multiple flash pieces.

Poetry: Generally no more than ten poems.

Please put “Ebook Submission” in your subject line.

There is currently no compensation for ebooks, though we promise to create a beautifully designed presentation of your work, and provide it for free to readers to help spread the greatness of your writing to all corners of the universe.
