MiPOesias ‘Sexy’ Issue 2008
Didi Menendez and co. continue to make incredible use of the Issuu publishing module in lit mags: this issue looks about as good as you can want, and is the ‘sexy’ issue. Which means that it has a ton of hot young male and female writers looking fly and talking words.
This issue has work by Bob Hicok, Sean Kilpatrick, Jamie Iredell, Kim Addonizio, P.F. Potvin, and scads more, with new pictures, poems, mini-interviews and etc. to be imbibed. Have a look.
Tags: bob hicok, mipoesias, sean kilpatrick
Amy King is a contributor dear. A very sexy lovely contributor but non the less a beautiful contributor. My sister I.M. Bess and moi are responsible for this. You can blame us.

Blake! You’re getting so old! What are you, 25 now? Jesus. Retire already. Take your social security and… wait, don’t bank on that social security thing just yet.

those smileys look awfully pleased, considering they are trapped inside of boxes. i’d be terrified.

It’s nice to see Hittinger represented — someone here with an imprint and a need for good chapbook poetry manuscripts ought to get in touch with him about a cycle called “Narcissus Resists.” It performed very favorably in one of our chapbook contests a few years back, and its still in need of a home (a press called beauty/truth accepted it a while back before folding without a trace). I’d release it today if I had the cash.

There are about seven-times-seven more pictures of Hittinger than anyone else, so I was glad his poems were actually very good. Otherwise it would look like, “Well… we’re doing a magazine about “Sexy” and as it turns out, writers are not the prettiest bunch…. but, hey! We found a good looking writer! Look!”

Matthew had his picture professionally taken in a very short notice. I have published him previously. I all ready knew what to expect before asking him to be in the issue 15 days before it launched. He is my hero. So is Hicok. Two heros that came through at the last minute for me. I am a lucky girl.

i’ll take a look at his chapbook. i am completely unprestigous, do limited print runs, and will pay him very little, but i do everything i can to promote the shit out of the writers i publish.
oh yeah, and the poems have to work in prose poem form. i know. i know.
