“I enjoyed it more than I expected to…the most potent work of art that Jonathan Safran Foer has yet produced.” – Michael Faber, The Guardian (UK).http://www.guardian.co.uk/books/2010/dec/18/tree-codes-safran-foer-review
Forty fucking dollars?
my favorite bit is: ‘ inarticulate [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] frustrated [ ]: [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] want[ ] [ ] want [ ] want [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ]’. i’ve flipped through this book several times, and each time induced a mild feeling of discomfort and ambivalence and depression
Doing this is a huge compliment to Foer’s thingy.
What does anonymous think of Bruno Schulz’s thingy?
Fucking thing rules!
“I love [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [] [] original”
I thought the same thing. Seemed expensive. I flipped through it the local B&N. Meh. Was pretty looking (I liked the layered effect) but overall just kind of..meh. $40 is too much for MEH. So I bought the philosophy of Final Fantasy instead. Less meh! Less money! Winsauce!
Oh and this review? It rocks.
the review section has been doing more exciting things around here lately than actual posts, love it
In the Guardian review Faber says the objet d’art is very fragile (“[ ] [ ] [ ] destroy it. [ ] [ ] br…”). – true?
Unendings props to the reviewer for not taking credit.
