Also: nice review. I haven’t read Stephen King in a long time. But this makes me want to. Actually, it makes me want to read some Peter Straub.

Seriously? That’s funny. I was just joking, because it’s the first thing I thought when I saw the cover.

Is anyone else concerned that Justin is now referring to himself in the third person? Albeit through an imagined and unlikely dialogue.

Why in the hell would anyone be reading Stephen King. Makes me wish for Mean Week 2010.

      Wow.

Hope to see everyone’s book in my grocery store though.

King is still a great storyteller, Sean. He may be bloated at times, and he isn’t as powerful as some writers, but he’s has still written a lot of great books. If you enjoyed SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, THE GREEN MILE, STAND BY ME or THE SHINING, then you can thank Mr. King. Some of his earlier shorter work is really compelling, such as THE LONG WALK (as Richard Bachman). I love IT and THE STAND, as well as THE DEAD ZONE too. But he’s not for everyone for sure.

Thanks Justin, I loved the review, it seemed very fair, and I’m glad that you pointed out his weaknesses as well as his strengths. He’s not just a horror writer, nor did I expect this novel to be horrific. I look forward to reading it.

      Peace,
      Richard
