   I found out last week that a famous pornographic actress very much likes Barry Hannah, and Lish edited authors in general, and I wrote to her on twitter to comment on this, and she wrote back that she in the city I live in for a writing workshop and we arranged to go for a drink, so we met in her hotel lobby bar and had glasses of wine by the fire and talked about books (she was reading Amy Hempel when I arrived) and then she got her laptop and she asked me to read some memoir-ish stories she had been working on for a book, and she’s a very good author, and I think the book will be worth reading when it comes out.

   We hugged goodbye and she said “keep in touch” but she didn’t reply to my subsequent email with a list of recommendations.
