Pot Psychology is back! Also, Susie Bright has been hanging around Jezebel all week
Is anyone else over here in lit-land also a fan of the dynamic duo pictured above? I’m generally a fan of Jezebel, but these guys are always an extra dose of fun. If you’ve never seen it, the premise of Pot Psychology is simple- Rich and Tracie get stoned (off-camera) and then give sex advice (on-camera) to people who write in. There’s usually an episode (they run under 10 minutes) posted every Friday, but then there was a silence after 12/26/08, broken only by the terse, uninformative announcement on 1/16/09 that “FYI for those who have been wondering: Pot Psychology will be on hiatus until further notice. Sorry, folks.” So how happy was I this morning, when I saw Pot Psychology listed as a headline link at the top of Gawker this morning? Very happy. Still no explanation as to where it went, or why it’s back, or if we can expect it to be a regular feature once more–but let’s save the truth commission for another day. On this day, we are just glad it is here.
Also, the new episode has a special guest star, sexpert Susie Bright, who has been hanging around Jezebel all week answering sex questions from readers, with more than a bit of help from her teenage daughter, Aretha. So okay–there’s lots of sexy things to be excited about right now, so let’s make a useful list (all of it probably more or less NSFW, but fuck it, it’s Saturday–right?):
New, Bright-infused episode of Pot Psychology: “How Should I Talk To My Daughter About Masturbation?”
Susie Bright Answers Your Burning Questions (Part 1)
Susie Bright Answers Your Burning Questions (Part 2)
Last pre-hiatus episode of Pot Psychology: “Can You Get an STD From Sharing Nasal Spray?”
Randomly chosen older episode of Pot Psychology: “Can I Be A Schoolteacher And a Slut?”

Justin-I’ve been meaning to post about Susie FOREVER!!! I want to write something about her fantastic long essay/book on Andrea Dworkin. She is, to me, a living icon and an important human being. Anyone interested in the history of the intesection of porn and feminism MUST read it. You can buy it frm her blog, I think.
And she is funny.
Now, I had never heard of Pot Psychology! That is genuis. It makes me want to come up with fucking fantastic video idea for htmlgiant….brainstorming…That said, I had to stop watching after yeast infections under boobs from sweaty boobs, and “stink finger”…I honestly felt naseous. But those two are the best. I want to hug them.
Yeah the yeast infections for boobs thing is an ongoing source of concern for them.
I actually know very little about SBright, but what I’ve seen so far I’ve liked. I’m sure you can get in touch with her via her blog- maybe she wants to be q&a’d or something.

I want to write something critically about her Dworkin piece and I have a very underlined copy of Pornography around somewhere….it’ll happen. I am not very good at q and a, to put it mildly. I force myself to do one once in a while…but man, so often, it goes like this- um, you are great! and they go, thanks! And then I go, so, ah, talk about what you do!…Oh boy.
But I’ll write about her Dworkin thing sometime.
oh stoner humor

I hope to understand on what your saying about “Pot Psychology” and be able to implement it if it’s good.
