interesting but untrue. At least in the mid-west there is a severe attachment to age and categorization or people into said age. As a cripple I trump the age thing here and end up in a separate category where there is better parking.

took a workshop with a dude who would not stop telling us how young he was. found a new way every day to tell us that he was quite young. It was awful. Probably not exactly what this post is driving at, but my god did I hate that guy, so.

Unless they’re trying to sleep with you :) A friend of mine once said that the only reason young authors (25 and under) get rocket-fueled amounts of press due to their age is because everyone wants to bone them. There is probably some truth to this.

Yeah, I got more than a few names in my brain when it comes to this. It’s a shame, but it’s true. When a young author gets published by a big house the only thing anyone can focus on is their age. The writing, whether it’s good or not, becomes inconsequential.
