Random Live Broadcast of Recent Books I Like

The random ass live reading is over. I will probably do it again, maybe once or twice a month when there are new books to talk about.

Here are the books I randomly read pages from this evening on uStream:

Collobert Orbital by Johan Jonson, translated by Johannes Goransson
How They Were Found by Matt Bell
The Black Eye by Brian Foley
Richard Yates by Tao Lin
Poetry! Poetry! Poetry! by Peter Davis
The Cow by Ariana Reines
Pilot by Johannes Goransson

Really looking forward to the release of Pilot. Going to make sure to check out The Black Eye as well.

Indland Empire is my favorite Lynch film next to Blue Velvet. I really miss Laura Dern’s cinematic presence. Why is she doing movies like Little Fockers these days? Jesus.

      Thanks for sharing some reads.

my pleasure Paul. Pilot is out already btw, you can get it through the link above. ditto the Foley.

I see. You are right. Pilot is already out (obviously I do not own it yet, ha). Though, I am confused. I thought I read somewhere that Goransson had a new book forthcoming in 2010. Maybe I am thinking of Aase Berg…

Thanks for the clarification (and the links)

Yes!, I was thinking of Aase Berg. I read somewhere that Black Ocean is publishing Goransson’s translation of her book, Mörk Materia (Dark Matter). But I cannot find this information now. But it exists . . . somewhere. haha

Johannes does indeed have a new book coming out soon from Tarpaulin Sky. not sure of the date yet, but I think before the year is out.

Awesome. I think I remember you mentioning something about Tarpaulin Sky during the stream. Everything makes sense now. I’m going to go buy some books now.

cool idea, blake. sorry i missed it. is there any way to archive or save such things so one can watch them after the fact? idk how ustream works.

  8. Blake Butler

there is an option to record. i will probably record it next time. hopefully we’ll have an archive of things available later.
