HAVE YOU SEEN BEGOTTEN?

I think you might like it.  Here’s the trailer.

Since the DVD of Elias Merhige’s amazing film is kind of rare now, I believe, you can watch the whole film here.  If you’re feeling like being altered now.  Happy Memorial Day.

” . . . makes ‘Eraserhead’ seem like ‘Ernest Saves Christmas'” LOL!

The blurbs alone have persuaded me to give this a viewing. Actually I shouldn’t say “the blurbs alone”–the cast of characters also seemed intriguing:

      God Killing Himself
      Mother Earth
Son of Earth (Flesh on Bone)

      Thanks for sharing, Nick!

I love films that are rituals. ‘Decasia’ has somewhat of a similar quality for me.

love this film but i think it would be hard to watch all the way through on a computer..you may be able to find it on VHS at your local video store (if its still in business)

Begotten is a truly unforgettable viewing experience. It’s really a shame the DVD is hard to find now — this is really effective on the biggest screen at your disposal in the darkest room in your house. Merhige’s short film Din of Celestial Birds is also worth a look: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qhHPLo1ELpg

I agree with this, watching this film on an old shitty VHS tape on a tiny tv at 5 in the morning ended up resulting in my favorite viewing experience of it.
