Over 1,000 pages of Georg Trakl coming. In 3 years, but coming…
Forthcoming in 2013 is The Collected Works of Georg Trakl, translated by Daniele Pantano and published by Black Lawrence Press. The book will include all of his poems, plays, fragments, drafts and letters and will be well over 1,000 pages. The timing of publication will dovetail with the centenary of Trak’s death (November 3, 1914).

A favorite.
Wow.
Wow.
I feel as though I was in Plato’s cave and am now seeing the light of this genius. Thank you for the link and I am now eagerly anticipating this book.
“Delicious: to stagger drunk in the darkening forest.
Cruel bells ring through black branches.
Dew drips on the face.”
this is the stuff that great poetry is made of, what I aspire to.

yeah, he’s one of my favorite poets for a long time. i’m experiencing un-admirable feelings of halfway wanting to keep him to myself. but then, i always want to comprise an exiled aristocracy of one.

Jhon,
three years is a long time to wait.
Do yourself a favor and get the Daniel Simko tranlation of Trakls’ Autumn Sonata, if you can find it –

Until you do, here are 20 poems translated by Robert Bly & James Wright – http://www.dreamsongs.com/Files/Trakl.pdf

Thank you so much. I searched the bookstore and left very disappointed. Not only because of Trakl, but the general state of popular lit. and the absence of any sort of back list. I was also looking for Plath’s short stories and something beyond mattie stepanik in poetry. I think I was crying as I ran out of there (I can’t run, it is for dramatic effect). I think what I need to do with my spare time is open something like ‘Pilot Books’.
