Here are some pictures I shot over the course of the AWP conference, which took place in Denver, Colorado, April 7 – 10, 2010.
NYC Area Event Announcement: Agriculture Reader #4 Launches on Monday at the KGB Bar
From Chief Agriculturist Jeremy Schmall:
It’s been a year in the making, but the new issue is finally here! After all the letterpressing, stamping, stickering, and in some cases fingerprinting (you’ll see), the only thing we want now is to show it to you! That’s why there’s no better place to be than the wonderful KGB Bar this Monday night, as part of The Monday Night Poetry Series. Always at 7:30. Always FREE. The reading will feature Mark Bibbins, the author of The Dance of No Hard Feelings (Copper Canyon Press, 2009) and the Lambda Award-winning Sky Lounge; and Douglas Crase, author of The Revisionist, Both: A Portrait in Two Parts, and editor of The Library of America editions of Emerson’s Essays: First and Second Series.
Facebook invite is here. Jeremy and I will be hosting, and we’d love to see you there.
Paul Constant offers one of the funniest, angriest movie reviews I’ve read in a while. Seriously, don’t mess with that guy. BONUS QUESTION: Should we start a letter writing campaign to get movie studios to stop making comic book movies for a little while? Like, a five year break or something? Maybe until someone interesting agrees to direct one?

Racist Racists Pass Racist Law Enshrining Racism in their Shit-Eating Racist State
Well, whatever you do, don’t be brown in Arizona. This is so massively fucked and evil. Happy Friday!
Anything else interesting happen at AWP?

Louise Bourgeois on Writing
“Art is manipulation without intervention.”
“I am not what I am, I am what I do with my hands.”
“Surrealism is anathema for me. Because the surrealists made a joke of everything. And I consider life a tragedy.”
“I like Francis Bacon best, because Francis Bacon has terrific problems, and he knows that he is not going to solve them, but he knows also that he can escape from day to day and stay alive, and he does that because his work gives him a kick.”
“Once I was beset by anxiety but I pushed the fear away by studying the sky, determining when the moon would come out and where the sun would appear in the morning.”
“Art is not about art.”
“It is not so much where my motivation comes from but rather how it manages to survive.”
Roundup in which the pollen count leaves me with no choice but to shapeshift into my reptile self
hotmanhokage i seen one before it was riding a bike disguised as a man and i saw his eyes.i think my cousin is a reptilian because her eyes look like it all that all the time
lescwilson I think u should consider that one of the qualities of these reptilians is known to be their cold hearted nature and that they’d kill u at the drop of a hat… for food…so don’t be so eager for their control lest u be farmed like veal or pork!
LadyWennor Draconians happen to be my favorite cataloged species. Don’t care about their plans of taking over earth if that is the case. I find Draconians hot but if you ask me I always fall for the extream.
“Wake Up!”: The Reptilian Shapeshifter Vidclip Festival is currently running at Coop’s place. Where else?
